The Health and Care Research Wales Support and Delivery Centre’s role is to facilitate the implementation of Welsh Government’s policies and strategies by providing centralised support functions and services for the health and social care research community in Wales.

The functions the Support and Delivery Centre provides include:

  • Facilitating the implementation of NHS R&D funding policies and performance monitoring of NHS R&D
  • Managing the portfolio of research being undertaken across Wales
  • Providing a research approvals and research ethics service
  • Facilitating initiatives to increase commercial, primary care and social care research
  • Disseminating the findings of research studies
  • Supporting patient and public involvement
  • Providing training, information and communications services
