An understanding of the contribution of qualitative research to clinical trials in generating robust evidence is essential to achieve improvements in health care practice. This course is aimed at research staff working in clinical trials and other health and social care studies to enable them to gain deeper insight into how qualitative methods enhance evidence generated from a classical clinical trial. The course will also be beneficial for other health and social care practitioners who work in research-active areas and are interested in developing their qualitative research skills.
This full day course includes the purpose of qualitative enquiry, an overview of the methods used in qualitative research, data generation and the principles of analysis.
The format of the day will include presentations, group work and discussion.
