UK Government has announced £40m in funding to tackle the novel coronavirus outbreak

The UK Government’s Department of Health and Social Care has announced £20 million funding to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovation (CEPI) to fund vaccines for coronavirus and other infectious diseases.

An additional £20m fund has been announced for projects which will contribute to the understanding, diagnosis, prevention and management of the virus. 

This fund is in addition and complimentary to the £20m CEPI funding.
