UKCRC’s new Health Research Classification System website launched

15 February 2018

The UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) has launched a brand new version of the Health Research Classification System (HRCS) website, which can be found at http://www.hrcsonline.net.

The HRCS was designed to produce a broad strategic overview of health research funding, and the site supports both the classification system itself as well as the UK Health Research Analysis reporting series, which provide a unique snapshot of health research funding across the UK.

Through Health and Care Research Wales, the Welsh Government is one of the UKCRC partners, and contributes to the regular UK Health Research Analysis by ‘coding’ the research we fund in Wales. These nationwide reports have grown since the first report of 2006 to include 64 charitable and public funders of biomedical and health research, with more than £3bn in funding assessed.

The new website provides a much improved day-to-day resource to researchers and funders, with great enhancements to the guidance for those coding awards and projects with HRCS. A summary of the improvements made can be found here.
