The Stroke Association Lectureship Programme - Research Funding

9 July 2015

The Stroke Association Lectureship Programme aims to encourage the next generation of leaders in stroke research, and address issues of researcher succession and sustainability, by providing support for clinical and non-clinical lectureship positions. Eight different funding streams are now available (a new clinical reader fund has been created) to support the development and establishment of researchers at all career stages.

The lectureship funding programme is designed to enable researchers to establish themselves as leaders of high-quality research programmes, inspire the next generation of researchers through lecturing and training, and to lever-in further funds to support PhDs, post-docs and other junior research positions. The intention is to create a secure and stable source of funding for new research posts over the first four or five years, after which the host university is expected to continue support.

This year, they are calling for applications to their:

  • Joint Stroke Association/ Health and Care Research Wales Lectureship Award. This award is only available to applicants in Wales.
  • Joint Stroke Association/ HSC R&D Division Stroke Lectureship Award. This award is only available to applicants in Northern Ireland.
  • UK-wide lectureship awards. These awards are available to researchers across Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England. There are eight award types available.

Call for all applications opens 20 May 2015

Call for all applications closes 5pm on 13 October 2015
