Abstract 2020

Submit an abstract now - reopened for presentation abstracts!

28 February 2020

We’d like to thank everyone who has already submitted an abstract for the conference. The conference planning committee has reviewed the abstracts submitted and would like to invite further abstract submissions for the oral presentations. Submissions for oral presentations should be mindful of the theme of the conference: Making a difference: the impact of health and social care research, and the committee are particularly looking for abstracts on research topics covering:

  • social care
  • NHS
  • lessons learned from COVID-19

This year's conference will be held on 7 October at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff and will focus on the theme of ‘Making a difference: the impact of health and care research’. All submissions should address the conference theme, and we particularly welcome those with a focus on Health and Care Research Wales’ funded projects and initiatives.

An overwhelming number of you applied to display a poster or present at our 2018 and 2019 conferences, we’ve received over 170 abstracts in the last two years and have been able to showcase a range of high-quality projects from across Wales. Building on that success we’re once again inviting you to submit abstracts to help make the conference an excellent place to showcase health and care research in Wales.

All abstracts will be considered by a panel who will review each entry on its relevance to the conference theme. There will be awards for ‘Best oral presentation’ and ‘Best poster’ which will be presented at the end of the day, read about last years’ winners in our 2019 conference round-up.

Presentations

We’re offering the opportunity for you to present your work, with a focus on the conference’s theme, during one of the five parallel streams at the conference. Presentations should be no longer than 10 minutes, and all streams will close with a Q&A led by the session's chair.

If you are not accepted to present, you may be offered the opportunity to display a poster.
