Health and Care Research Wales call for Specialty Leads

Health and Care Research Wales is recruiting Specialty Leads to champion and support research development and delivery.

We’re looking for experienced and high-calibre clinical leaders who are able to command the respect of colleagues UK-wide.

You will understand the research needs and priorities of NHS Wales in your specialty area, champion the uptake of studies and enthuse colleagues to engage effectively in research.

Specialty Leads will be recruited in two ways.

Health and Care Research Wales Research Centres and Units will nominate a Specialty Lead within their fields of expertise.  

Open recruitment will be held for Specialty Leads in a range of specialty areas not covered by the Centres and Units.

Applications are invited in the following specialty areas:

  • Critical Care
  • Dermatology
  • Ear, Nose and Throat
  • Gastroenterology
  • Haematology
  • Health Services Research
  • Hepatology
  • Infectious Diseases and Microbiology
  • Metabolic and Endocrine Disorder
  • Musculoskeletal Disorders
  • Ophthalmology
  • Reproductive Health and Childbirth
  • Respiratory
  • Stroke
  • Surgery
