Delegates, speakers, exhibitors and organisers have been thanked following a hugely successful Health and Care Research Wales annual conference.
More than 300 people from across the research community were part of the event, hosted at the SSE SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff on Thursday, 5 October.
Set around the theme of inequalities in health and social care research, the conference’s packed programme of events featured a series of engaging and informative keynote speeches, including one from Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Health, Well-being and Sport, Vaughan Gething, who spoke about the importance of research in Wales.
A programme of thought-provoking workshops were well attended while the event’s numerous exhibition stands, representing organisations across the Health and Care Research Wales infrastructure and beyond, proved immensely popular.
The event was rounded off with an address from Health and Care Research Director, Professor Jon Bisson, who also handed out prizes to the winners of all four of the organisation’s hotly-contested awards.
Speaking about the event, Professor Bisson said: “Thank you to everyone who joined me at the Health and Care Research Wales conference 2017 and helping to make sure it was a success.
“It was great to see the research community come together once again and I hope the opportunity to hear about inequalities in health and social care helps us reflect on the contribution we can all make to tackle this important issue in Wales and beyond.”
