Health and Care Research Wales is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Fiona Verity as Director of the School for Social Care Research. Fiona is Professor of Social Work and Social Care in the College of Human and Health Sciences at Swansea University.
The School for Social Care Research is a key part of the Health and Care Research Wales infrastructure and will bridge the gap between academic research and social care services in Wales.
In her new role, Professor Verity will be putting together a team to deliver this activity, working closely with Welsh Government to build capacity and develop links with the social care community.
“The School is an important initiative by Health and Care Research Wales in building strength in social care research. I am excited by its emphasis on public participation, developing evidence enriched practice and generating meaningful links between universities and social care services in Wales.
At the heart of the School will be a genuinely co-productive approach to working together, sharing knowledge and generating new knowledge that can make a difference”.
