The National Health Service is turning 70 on 5 July this year. It’s the ideal opportunity to celebrate how research has improved and shaped one of the nation’s most loved institutions.
It’s also Health and Care Research Wales’ 3rd birthday on 14 May, and with International Clinical Trials day on 20 May, we have got a lot to celebrate throughout early summer.
This year activities will kick off on 14 May at the NHS R&D Forum and will run through to the NHS’ 70th birthday on 5 July.
#TeamResearch aims to celebrate, and spread the word about, the world-class research that is taking place in Wales.
The activities will begin at the NHS R&D Forum on our birthday. We will be sharing three key research highlights from our first three years, and streaming live from the event on social media. Visit us at our stand - look out for the birthday cake and balloons.
Throughout early summer we want to reflect upon the key health and social care research developments of the last 70 years, and highlight how your participation and involvement in research could help shape the research of the future.
Health and Care Research Wales will share seven stories showcasing how the treatment and care you receive today is the result of past research, and seven stories considering what research could do for all of us in the future. Keep checking our website for the latest story.
On 20 May we will be celebrating the anniversary of the first clinical trial. It’s a chance to highlight life-changing health and social care research across Wales. Keep up to date with International Clinical Trials day events here.
You can get involved on social media with polls, question and answer sessions and a live tweet chat. Join the celebrations by using #TeamResearch alongside #NHS70 and #ICTD18.
